Just discovered a very interesting drama, American Family, on SiTV after watching Greetings from Tucscon. I stuck around to watch it because Edward James Olmos is in it and I like him. Grrr... although I could do without this episode dealing with the Korean war, 911 and a baby amidst warfare. :D (Almost as bad as the legs that kept walking in Over There after the top part of the body was blown off....) I'm not a fan of war oriented things, but these are pretty good. I really have no desire to see Over There because I KNOW HOW FX IS. They don't hold back in showing gruesomeness. I really can't bare to watch Nip Tuck... and as much as I enjoy Rescue Me, it's pretty brutal. This kinda stuff usually falls into the: Saving Private Ryan/Black Hawk Down category... I'll watch it one time and then avoid watching it ever again. Of course... there is reason to watch them which has to do with preparing myself to script horrible war things in Akaelae, Black Rose and PURE. I won't be as graphic as FX is though. ;) I don't like drawing tons of blown apart body parts. It's nice to see a good latino driven series considering how few there are out there. |
